We often think of air purification as an amenity. Unfortunately, the increasing emissions and urbanisation of this planet has result in an unprecedented compromise of air quality. What is UV light?

How does it work?

UV-C destroys air pollution similarly to how UV-B rays causes sun burn in humans. However, they do so on a much smaller scale and thus, are proven to be safe for use in residential and office environments.
The light is strong enough to penetrate the cell walls of the organism. This disturbance results in damage of the organism’s DNA. As such, its activity is neutralised and in some cases, becomes sterilised. A microbe’s susceptibility to break down correlates with an increase to higher expose UV-C light rays.

Do I still need an air filter?

Before you rush an install UV TiO2 lights it’s important to ensure that you install the full system. This entails that you have a conventional dust filter already installed. By filtering out the major dust particles first, the UV TiO2 will not only be kept safe but will be optimally efficient. This is the most economic solution for protecting your home from indoor pollution.
